Surprise at Santa Fe Cattle Company!!!!

This is my daughter and me with the surprise!!!

This is a mural painted on the side of The Santa Fe Cattle Company that my daughter and I thought was hilarious. Redneck tea? May be good though it can't compare to Cousin Davy's sweet tea which is requested from as far away has Ohio.

I loved this old beat up truck that graced the entrance of The Santa Fe Cattle Company. Neither of us had been there before and the food, atmosphere and the company of my daughter was fantastic.

Yesterday afternoon, I went to Alabama to meet my daughter Miss Nan for lunch. You may remember Miss Nan from a couple of earlier blog posts. We were meeting half way between our house in Georgia and her house in Troy to have a nice lunch and just see each other for a few hours. This picture is the sign that greeted me when I crossed the State line into Alabama.

Then Miss Nan let me in on her little, or should I say BIG surprise. Her boyfriend of two years had given her an engagement ring the night before. It was a lovely and elegant ring. She practically glowed as she was telling the story of how her now fiance proposed. It was a really sweet story. I was a little shocked to say the least. I told her that if this is what makes her happy and she loves this man, then she has Prince's and my support. We will stand with her, beside her and watch her when she marries because she belongs to us. Today, our lunch tasted like love.

Anyway, this is all making me feel really old. Really old AND tired. All that I can think of right now is "I need to be sure to use extra moisturizer from now on" and "What the hell am I going to wear?". She says that they are going to be engaged for a little while before marrying which is a relief. I need a little time to absorb all of this for a little while. My youngest.....my baby girl, is getting married. I didn't cry though because cowgirls don't cry. Wait, I'm not a cowgirl I'm a smalltown city girl!!
