Next Friday's "Friday Shoot-Out" Subject!!

Hey you.......yeah YOU!!!!! You wanna join a gang?????? Please join us for Friday Shoot-Outs. We have participant's all over the world.....Canada, Brasil, China, Japan, Manila,Australia, France, Aukland, Hawaii and all over the United States!!

Come join us. The only person we're waiting for is YOU!!

The subject for next Friday's Shoot-Out has been picked by the beautiful and talented Jen. This week Patty picked a random name from a pile of names and next week I will pick. We've decided to take turns. The next 2 newbies to the group will get one of these gang t-shirts. I had these t-shirts custom made. One for myself, one for Barry and two more to entice newcomer's. We would love to see your town.

*****JEN'S SUBJECT PICK::::::
"How about architecture - old and crumbling, new and shiny, in between. The beauty of structures - or the eyesore they can become. Abandoned, or bursting with life and activity, buildings tell a story.

Everyone could do that, right?".*****

This is soooo simple, that's part of the beauty of this project......simplicity. Nothing complicated or a site for just a few but a 'free for all' ~~~ gang style :)
Who says a gang has to be bad. We have an awesome group of participant's.

Just shoot around the subject. No rules involved, no criticism, just plain old-fashioned fun in a new-fangled cyber kind of way. We want to see your town through your eyes and lens. It's rather like seeing the world for free blogger style.

Come on..............show it to us.........Come ride the highway with us all (I'm throwing gang signs as I type this post.......I'm down with it baby, lol).

Happy Birthday To My Sweet Son

Today, March 18, 2009, my son is turning 24 years old. He's my oldest and I just can't imagine for the life of me where twenty four years have gone so quickly.
I remember when I was a little girl.....the summers seemed like they lasted forever and my Daddy would tell me "Just you wait....wait until you're older.....time will fly by" and man was he right.

A LETTER TO MY SON

My dear, dear kiddo,

It seems just like yesterday when all three of us were sitting in this chair.
It seems like yesterday and yet it seems like twenty four years. Maybe more sometimes.
I told you when your sister was born that you were "a big boy now" so you would always say from thereafter "I'm a big boy now but when I grow little I'm going to be a football player". Anything that you said about growing up you always said "when I grow little". I thought that was the cutest thing ever. When your sister was born and I brought her home from the hospital you said "I never wanted a baby.....I only wanted one big black dog. That's all I wanted......one big black dog!!" Of course I got you your big black dog Doo-Wah and you loved her fiercly.
You loved playing baseball, taking Gor Chor Kung Fu and you were a straight A student who took all advanced classes. You learned to read when you were four years old. You made friends easily. You had a terrible temper and used to tease your sister mercessly.
Justin.......crazy things happen in life. Things that I don't understand. Things that you don't understand. Things that no one understands. One thing that I do understand and one thing that I know is true in this life is......that I love you. I love you with everything in me.
I hope that you have the best birthday ever. I can't believe that twenty four years of summers and winters have passed in our lives. Geez, sometimes I feel so old and sometimes I feel so young.

Gold and Silver have I none but worth a million is my son........

I long for you every day my son. I long for those days when you were big and going to grow little.

Your Mom

*************"You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back.
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast.
These are the good times, so take a good look around
You may not know it now. You're gonna miss this"**************

A Gift For The Common Good

It's Sunday, so I suppose I am a little thoughtful and mindful today. I have been thinking about the greatest gifts that we can give to ourselves. I find that I often give little gifts to others, but don't often take the time to give many to myself . I think that maybe, just maybe, the best gift's that I can give to myself are; allowing myself to love with wild abandon, accepting love from other's who have no hidden agenda, appreciating my wonderful Prince our wonderful family & friends each and every day, and pursuing happiness like there will never be another day left to live. Who knows? There may not be..........

We have to be good to ourselves. If we don't who will? I have to take care of myself and Prince and treat us as precious every day. I want to never allow anyone or anything to rob me of the joy that I know God intended for me to have on this earth.

We are P~U~R~S~U~I~N~G H~A~P~P~I~N~E~S~S...... each and every day because it is worth it.
