Pay It Forward....It's Worth It

"Friday's Shoot-Out" was awesome. Seeing everyone's food, resturant's and watering holes made me gain 6 pounds!!If anyone else would like to participate, let one of us gang member's know.......we would love to see your town. This Friday's subject is 'ANYTHING GOES"!! Pick any subject you'd like and shoot away. We're going to get back to letting member's pick weekly subjects next week but this week the world is your oyster (okay, maybe not the world, lol). Join us won't you??? We have a great time and who doesn't want to be in a gang???



I got this really cool idea from Miz Dot @ Counting My Blessings. This "Pay It Forward" project is simple acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness pass it on. So here’s how it works. I will send a gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on the blog requesting to join this PIF and they will do so on their blog by posting something similar and so on and so on. Please let me know by comment if you would like to participate. I think you will find it rewarding and fulfilling to do something that takes us totally outside of ourselves and spreads random acts of kindness. Hippity Hoppity Easter's On It's Way

Wow, I can't believe that it's almost Easter. Sunday morning children will be waking to beautiful baskets left especially for them from the Easter Bunny. They will be filled with chocolate bunnies, colorful Peeps, speckled Robin eggs (my favorite) and jelly bean eggs. How exciting that will be for them!! My pups will all get a small veggie burger made especially for them and I will tell them that the Easter Bunny left it for them.......

Tomorrow is the "Friday Shoot-Out". This week's subject is My Town - The Four" chosen by GingerV @flowersandmore in Brasil. Anything that revolves around the main intersections of your town.....storefront's, alley's, street signs, traffic lights, people, traffic. It's all about interpretation as there are No Rules in this fun project. Whining has already been taking place all week about having no traffic lights and such (okay, before everyone goes crazy one me....I'm totally kidding). Improvise.......everyone has a town of some sort. Let's see your's through your eyes. Are we posting on Friday's or Thursday nights this week Patty? Just so we're all on the same page.

Lovely Loida @welcometo2Ls3B's has chosen next week's subject: "MY HOMETOWNS NATIVE FOODS AND RESTURANTS". Let's see what and where you love to eat. Everybody's gotta eat right? Let's all get to shootin and let the whining begin :).........

Isn't this just beautiful? I looked closely and there are actually two other trees growing all around and into this mighty Water Oak. I'm going to go back for another shot when more of the leaves have opened. I hope these other trees and vines don't choke out their stunning host......

Tuesday's Touring Newnan, City Of Homes

These are a few things that I spied while I've been out and about in my beautiful city this week of Newnan, Georgia.

**An important note: I've been informed that clicking on the "Daily Puppy" will generate a little more money for the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society so if you have just a second......please???? It's such a worthy cause!!

Spring has arrived in all of it's glory and beauty, people are getting out and smiling while they have a little have a little zip in their walk. I see friends sharing lunches in cafes and diners Al Fresco because it's nice and the weather permits eating outside.........

Come for a little stroll with me in my hometown.......

A beautiful weeping cypress that I saw in front of the City Of Newnan Police Department...




Outside on the sidewalk at the Vintage Flea. Shopkeeper's downtown are displaying their wares in the sunshine......




A barn that I saw that I thought was really pretty off of Roscoe Road......




Don's Barber Shop in Downtown Newnan. I've always loved anything with a Barber's pole......




Nobody told me there was a Money Tree in town. I'm on the look out for it to be sure.........

Today, March 1 is My Parent's Anniversary

That's my Mom, Jean and my Dad, Bud on the day they married. All that I know is that it was March 1st. I don't know the year. My Dad was a Hydraulic Engineer for the government and my Mom was still in high school. The met when my Dad came into town one week while he was on a job assignment. My grandparent's owned a little country store in Alabama and my Dad stopped in for a Coca~Cola. They met that day and saw each other every night that week. When it came time for Dad to leave my mother told her parent's that she was going with him. She was so young that that's my Papa with them because he had to go sign for her to get married. They are standing on a bridge somewhere in Helena, Alabama.

My Dad passed away on a Sunday morning very unexpectedly at the age of 45 on June 6, 1976. My mother passed away on August 7, 1977 at the age of 41. My Papa that is standing with them left this earth in 1978. I was 13, 14 and 15 years old respectively.

My darling Grandmother, Christine came to live with us, as there were 4 of us and not many people can take on 4 children. She was my rock. She held us together and wiped my tears when I cried.......especially for my Daddy because I was the only girl and we all know that all girl's are Daddy's girl's.......

Anyway, Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad. I know that you are together. It has been many, many years and yet it seems like only yesterday. I know that you are together and happy and that is what I want for you.......to be together and happy. I miss you though........

This last snapshot is one in honor of my Dad who was a wounded Korean War Veteran. He drove an ammo truck to the front line and on the way back from the run, he and his buddies ran over a mine. Had they run over that mine when the truck was full of ammunition they would have all been killed. As it was, only he and one of his buddies survived and both got Purple Hearts. When he died, he was given full military honors and we still have the flag that was draped over his casket. This one's for you Daddy.
