My Daddy Was A Soldier.........

This post is in honor of my Dad a Purple Heart Veteran of the Korean War. He died at the age of 45 in 1976 and was buried with full military honors. He taught my brother's and I our love for this country with his unfailing love for America. I still fly Old Glory in the front of my house every day in his honor.......in honor of all servicemen and women from around the world who have given so much for our freedom.

My most prized possession is the American flag that draped his casket. Folded so nice and neatly by his comrades it rests in a beautiful wooden triangle case over my fireplace with his picture.

Thank you Daddy - - - you're my hero!!!

Thank you to every American soldier and their families.

This is one of my favorite picture's in the whole world of my dad on a little R&R with his buddy in Korea. That's my daddy on the left with his beautiful smile..........

You probably don't know his story

Most will never speak his name

You won't see him in your dreams tonight

But you owe him just the same

Since that awful day in September

He's proudly stood to fight

To serve his grieving nation

He needed to do what was right

He'd never admit to being a hero

That's not was heroes do

Instead of basking in the limelight

He's fighting for the red, white, and blue

Every moment he misses his family

Every day brings another fight

But, it's a small price to pay for freedom

To let his son sleep safe at night

He never asked to leave his family

He didn't ask to go to war

Never once has he asked himself

What in the hell am I fighting for?

Let somebody else fight for freedom!

I'm tired of getting low pay!

This is what I get for the sacrifice,

Of giving my life away?

He proudly serves his country

He wears his ribbons for all to see

He's served Old Glory with honor

And he's fought for our liberty.

Please remember all of our brave servicemen who have given so much on this Memorial Day.

Pay It Forward....It's Worth It

******Please Click On "The Daily Puppy" it is building a little money to help build a NO KILL shelter here in Newnan, Georgia******

"Friday's Shoot-Out" was awesome. Seeing everyone's food, resturant's and watering holes made me gain 6 pounds!!If anyone else would like to participate, let one of us gang member's know.......we would love to see your town. This Friday's subject is 'ANYTHING GOES"!! Pick any subject you'd like and shoot away. We're going to get back to letting member's pick weekly subjects next week but this week the world is your oyster (okay, maybe not the world, lol). Join us won't you??? We have a great time and who doesn't want to be in a gang???

I got this really cool idea from Miz Dot @ Counting My Blessings. This "Pay It Forward" project is simple acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness pass it on. So here’s how it works. I will send a gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on the blog requesting to join this PIF and they will do so on their blog by posting something similar and so on and so on. Please let me know by comment if you would like to participate. I think you will find it rewarding and fulfilling to do something that takes us totally outside of ourselves and spreads random acts of kindness. Instead of always hearing all of the bad things happening in the world let's make something good happen!! Please leave me a comment on my post if you'd like to participate. I know we're all busy, but it truly on takes just a few minutes. It doesn't have to be anything expensive at all......just a bookmark, a recipe, a packet of flower seeds, just anything that you feel is something something that represents you. Or you could always send something to one of brave soldier's who fight daily so that we can have liberties and freedom.......

This is for Airman Mom...........true heroes indeed...........

American Pride.........this made me think of you again Airman Mom. Thanks for always calling attention to our brave soldiers who fight for our freedoms daily.......
