Got Rabies? Gotcha Covered in Newnan!!

****Please don't forget to click on the Daily Puppy!!!****

What a beautiful day we had for Rabies Clinic today in Newnan, Georgia. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the volunteers were volunteering. This is such a wonderful thing to be a part of......taking vaccinations out into the community. You meet the nicest pups, kitty's and humans.

I just can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful Spring day....

(If you asked me a question earlier today, my answer's are in the comment section of that post. Thank you all for asking and you really made me think and/or laugh)

The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society's "MARTHA" - Mobile Adoption & Rescue Transport Helping Animal's. That's our presiden bent down inside the door doing what she does. Busy, busy, busy big-hearted lady she is.......

What a great day we had. Thank you to the Vet's who gave their time to do this service for our community. You time means so much and what you do is priceless. To the organizer's extraordinaire, Foster Failure and Miz Gail, you are awesome. To all of the kind people who took time out on a beautifully amazing day, where would these animal's be without you? Your kindness means so much to one's who cannot help themselves and need a human touch. Bless you all for adopting and taking such fine care of your four legged friend's. There's a special place for you.

Rabies??? Get Your Rabies Shot Here!!

The annual Rabies Clinic held by the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society was a smashing success!! Postcard reminders were sent out and before we could even get started pups and kitty's lined the parking lot behind the Fire Station off of Welcome Road in Newnan, Georgia. The clinic didn't start properly until 1:00 p.m. I arrived at the fire station before noon and was thrilled to see everyone queuing up already.
A few pics that I took to remember the occasion.......

Foster Failure........organizer extraordinaire.......

They came by the wagon full!!...............

The queue before noon......

More waiting pups and kitty's.........

A kind thank you for the kindness shown by Dogwood Veterinary Hospital for volunteering their time. Thank you isn't nearly enough. You guys have amazing hearts.......

Captain Woody, his crew and moi. These guys are awesome. They let us have the rabies clinic there and even came out to talk to us and give us a smile of encouragement now and again..........

The fantastic Dr. Wayne Morris, DVM and his super sweet tech. They worked at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital all morning and them came out to volunteer their time to help make this rabies drive a success!

A sign that I think is hilarious in front of Dogwood Veterinary Hospital. Maybe I'm a little warped, but every time I see this sign I laugh out loud :)

This year this clinic alone did 300 rabies vaccinations in about 2 hours. Special thanks go to .....

***Foster Failure for organizing this success
***Captain Woody and his crew at the Welcome Road Fire Dept
***Kind Dr. Wayne Morris and his smiling vet tech
***All the awesome volunteer's who wrote out rabies
certificates, collected money, smiled and stopped to
give a little pat on the head to a scared animal, wiped
up a little wee from nervous pets, cleaned up.....the list
just goes on and on.
***All of the pet owners who brought their animals out to
be vaccinated. Thanks for helping to keep rabies from
becoming an epidemic.

We actually gave shots until we ran out of rabies tags. Foster Failure says that we are going to have to do the clinic again in a few months because at the very end we had to turn a couple of people away because we had no more tags. This was a great day and a very worthy cause. Now.........I need a martini........

Saturdays Are For Just Chumping About

Saturday is here my friends and the weather is supposed to be splendid. It is supposed to be a beautiful and sunny 75 degrees. And to think that last Sunday it was snowing here in Newnan!

Today, Prince and I are working at the Rabies Clinic for tne Newnan-Coweta Humane Society. That's always a great afternoon and you meet so many nice pups, kittys' and their peeps. All of the other volunteers are super great people, many of whom we spend a lot of time outside of volunteering with because they're such great people.
Then we are going to till our organic garden again with a little horse poo. Can't get much more organic than that now can you? We get it from our friends the Foster Failures who are just the nicest people. The other gigi and her hunny Superfly are coming to help. It will be a great day and lots will be accomplished. Later this evening, we'll make a little Sangria and sit by the pool (although it's still covered) and just relax with friends after a long but wonderful day.

More signs of Spring........

A sign for tomatoes that will soon be ripening in the sun.......

A beautiful little patch of purple pansies that I spied this week.......

A beautiful bed of multi colored pansies with a funky orange and blue fire hydrant that I saw Thursday. I love the fire hydrant. Who says they all have to be just boring red? I mean, don't get me wrong.....I like red, but I do love the way they have perked this particular one up and made it a little art deco looking.

This is our historic courthouse on the square in downtown Newnan. It was used as a hopital during the War Between The States. She's just stunning and they are going to recopper that old top. The top holds a old, old clock that chimes on the hour. I love to hear that old clock crying out the time while I'm out and about downtown.

And lastly, a sign that I saw at Alamo Jacks. Hmmmm....St. Patricks Day is right around the corner. #1 - check....#2 - check.....#3 check because if there's going to be dancing with leprechauns going on then Reggie Girl and Prince are sooo there!!! I wonder if it's going to be real leprechauns? Maybe it will just be short people painted green and dancing about (and no, I'm not making fun of short people because I am one of them). I wonder if leprechauns drink green beer? Green Beer has to be better for you than plain old regular colored beer because it must have veggies in it right? At least I tell myself that every year. I just hope that I can follow at least one of those leprechauns home so that I can find that pot of gold!!

Here's hoping that everyone has a fantastic weekend. I hope you and yours chump about and have a little love, joy and laughter. I take that back....make that I hope that you have an abundance of love, joy and laughter in your homes this weekend!!
