Tuesday's Touring Newnan.....City Of Homes....

It's Tuesday again, one of my favorite days of the week because I get to show places of interest that we love about our beautiful town. Prince and I painted all day long yesterday at the new lovenest. Needless to say, I'm feeling a little lackluster this morning!! We are headed back over to have another go at it today. We are actually making a lot of progress over there. It already looks like a different house entirely. Oh, I'm digressing.......here are a few snaps of place and things that we saw this last week while taking little drives.......

This is my personal favorite!! This sign made Prince laugh out loud and say (mind you, you have to be hearing this in his very British accent..) "See there, I told yall all (Brit speak for yall) that The King was still alive! You should learn to listen to me more often Reggie Girl". Ummm...whatever.

The Major Convenience Store off of Hwy 16. It's not JUST convenience.....it's "major" convenience.!!

The Old Tin Gin, old cotton gin and store on Hwy 16 complete with Marlboro Red signs gracing either side of the moniker. Gotta love that.

This is an Indian Chief carved with a chain saw in someone's front yard in Sargent, Georgia. I think this is amazing and I love the old replica of the covered wagon, without the cover mind you, beside it. I love this yard everytime I see it because it's so very Americana.

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our slice of heaven here in beautiful Newnan, Georgia.

  7. Annie, that sign has actually only been there 2 days. I can't believe that Elvis is coming to Newnan. Or is it the ghost of Elvis...hmmm

Hey Michelle, no I haven't blogged the new house yet....I'm taking before and after snaps and will definately post them next week.
By the way, great job on the southern speak :)

  12. I spent the happiest 8 years of my life in Doraville, GA (north of Atl). I haven't been back in years - I'm told it has changed a lot, but I'd still love to live there again.

  13. Hi MMMRS: thanks for posting these pix of your funny town. I live in a funny part of Montana and have thought about posting funny pictures here, too. I just might do it now that you've inspired me. I posted some "street fashion" last week--I loved sharing how people in my town dress. In any case I also appreciated your post about past relationships and learning new behavior. Thank you for being so honest with strangers...we have so much more in common than not.

    Look forward to reading more.

  18. Thanks for the tour! Elvis - in Newman? Keeping a low profile. I think that covered wagon is actual size - people were a lot smaller back then.

  25. You'll have to post a report on the concert. How does he look? Has he lost his voice? Is he wearing leather or a bejeweled jump suit?
