Quiet, Thoughtful Sundays That I Adore
I would love to hear any captions that you might like for this beautiful photograph of a painting...........
You have been washed for the roasting of the lamb, the delicious roasting of the lamb, your fur is spotless, it is white as snow, you will be delicious once roasted little lamb,
Well......this post went to the deep end in a hurry didn't it?? You gals are brutal, lol!! Funny as heck, but a little brutal. And yes of course I know that Jesus ate Buzzardbilly but I'd like to think that he didn't eat this little lamb he was holding so gently.... And Annie........lambchops????? Really???? Thank you Noe Noe.....you must be a vegetarian, lol.....
Buzzardbilly is a hoot! Here I'm thinking of something holy and good and I read the 1st comment. I burst out laughing! Too funny!I was going to say a quote I saw on a board outside of a church near my home. It's the 1st thing I thought of..."The best thing you can give someone is a chance."Not my quote but a very good one I think! Anyways too funny!
I first thought of the old hymn "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" which in part says, "What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the Everlasting arms. I have blessed peace, with my Lord so near, Leaning on the Everlasting arms." The photo you posted reminds me so of ones I remember from Sunday School as a child. Thanks for the memory today.
Amazing blog! Brava! Thank you for stopping by and introducing yourself! I need to get my 3-D glasses so that I can fully enjoy your offerings! Yep, better! Thank you for your thoughtful Sunday wishes, and right back at you! Blessings. Petra :))
This looks like a holy photo.. Oh my, I guess I wanna be friend with Buzzardbilly.. Cute, cute, cute.. :)
My caption: "Come sleep in my bossom and remain as WHITE as you are.. there too many BLACK SHEEP already out there and I don't want you to be one.." - Loida
One little lamb strayed from the flock and got lost. Even though Jesus (the shepherd) had the whole flock to look after, he still took the time to look for and find the one that got lost. That parable shows us that although God has the whole world to take care of, he still cares about each and every one of us. Each and every one of us is important to him.
Hard to understand when you see what is happening in Gaza and other hotspots around the world, isn't it? Blessings, Star
As a photographer I can't think of words, but there is a nice warm feeling that comes over me when I look at the photo. And that is good enough for me.
How 'ya doing Reggie Girl? Send me an email. I got your personal post.
Reggie girl, couldn't find an email address as your come through as no reply so hope you don't mind me using the comments. Where did you find you day in history box. Is it a widget. I think it is great and wondered if you would mind letting me have the link if you have it, Margaret
I just saw your comment on "St. Patrick," Reggie Girl, and by all means you can use the information. I'll give you the site which I referred to: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/ 11554a.htm. This was very serendipitous indeed! Petra :))
If Jesus cares for the animals, how much more does He care for us. I can't think of any better captions than people have already given you....lots of good ones there!
Thanks for the laugh, Buzzardbilly. It made me remember that the profession of shepherds was to supply restaurants...and probably not all that sacrilegious since the theme of Jesus for all of us has to do with sacrifice for others sustenance.
