Catering an Employee Luncheon at Food Lion

Yesterday I had the priviledge of catering a luncheon for a new Food Lions grocery store that is opening in Newnan. Not only was I thrilled and excited to have the fantastic opportunity to cater this job, but this particular store is opening about 5 miles from our house. We are thrilled to have a grocery store within about 5 minutes from our house!! Now, when I forget an onion or I run out of pup or kitty food, I can jump in the car and be there and back in a jiffy.

Our luncheon turned out so well. The manager of the new store, Miss Vicky told me over and over how nice everything looked, how great the food was and how much she appreciated me accomodating her last minute changes. What a nice lady she is and I really didn't find her last minute changes anything out of the ordinary.

We cooked grilled steaks with sauteed mushrooms, onions & peppers.....fresh mixed green salad with various dressings.......baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, shredded cheese and bacon bits.....homemade chocolate and pineapple pound cake and homemade banana pudding.

I set the tables with blue and white tablecloths, which are the Food Lion colors, crystal candle holders and accented with American flags. Everything looked so lovely and I was so pleased when all of the employees told me how much they liked all of the food and they all gathered to shout a great big "THANK YOU FOR OUR LUNCH". That in itself made the hard work all worth the effort.

This is a picture of myself and the other gigi who is an amazing friend and such awesome help.........

The other gigi behind the buffet table before it was attacked and destroyed....

This is our pretty dessert table........

I've always believed that you should find what you truly love to do in life and let that be your passion. This is without a doubt one of the most rewarding jobs that I've ever had and my boss is pretty easy to work for as well......seeing as how my boss is me, lol.

  9. Cool that the Luncheon turned out well. As for the foods you guys prepared, I say the one who caught my attention the best is the baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, shredded cheese and bacon! Reading it tastes good already hahaha!

My only regret is that I wasn't there to taste all the good food LOL.

  17. Oh boy, did our blogs cross on the battlefield of blogs today! I didn't realize you were a caterer. Now Butler and I are going to have to work extra hard at keeping Bagman away from you. How do you stay so slim? I'm betting all the calories go to your hair.

  20. I am over here drooling for the steak, baked potato and fresh salad! Yum!! Makes me want to run out with DH and visit the nearest steak house. But that pineapple and chocolate cake for desset, now that is right up my alley. I have a huge sweet tooth, and never pass up the opportunity for a bit of dessert. Which is why I need to lose a few pounds! :-) But I am a happy gal in life when i get dessert.
