Thursday's....Bit of This, Bit of That

What a fantastic week I've been having. Busy yet peaceful. Productive yet quiet. Sunny days and warmer weather means that I can work more in my yard and garden, which I love.

I've learned this week that apparently all spending is stimulative. Calling this madness stimulative is a tad desperate don't you think? Okay, I'm going to get right off of that subject because if I think about it for too terribly long, it makes me a tad honery.

This is a picture May-May the panda that I took last summer at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washintgon D.C. It was a hot, hot day and her keeper had given her a frozen treat made of bits of fruit with pineapple juice. Look how sweet she looks! Made me want a Popsicle and I'm no Popsicle lover.

While out and about running errands on Tuesday, I saw this blackbird eating buns and bagels outside the Panera Bread On Bullsboro Drive. Shout out to the employees of Panera Bread for giving their day olds to the birdies for a treat.

A few intersting facts.......

**A deaf center-fielder for the Cincinatti Reds, William Hoy, created the signs for strikes and balls used in baseball today. (Speaking of baseball, I'm ready for Cousin 4's Rec Center baseball games to begin and for my beloved Atlanta Braves to start playing their home games).

**Leonard Da Vinci invented scissors.

**The oldest person to sign the Constitution was Benjamin Franklin at 81 years of age. The youngest was Jonathan Dayton of New Jersey at 26 years of age.

**Emily Dickinson, America's most famous female poet, published only seven of her poems during her lifetime. It was only after her death at age 56, that her almost 2000 poems were discovered and published.

**A cockroach can withstand 80 times more radiation that a human being. (I knew it!! Can anyone tell me what purpose a cockroach has? Does it have a purpose? Gross!! My ex-husband is a cockroach, but I digress..........)

when i tune into your energy... i pick up a lot of native american energy - if that doesn't resonate with you,its the place you live in - and a strong female energy - older female - someone who was very close to you as a child - either a grandmtoehr or an older aunt? someone who functioned as someone like that to you? im also smelling something that smells like cherry tobacco or some fruity flavor...its a woodsy fruity scent of somehting burning...

  2. Were we married to the same ex? Mine was a cockroach also. Maybe it is all exs. Interesting fact about baseball signs. I'll have to pass it along to my husband (the baseball nut).

  7. Hello my dear Reggie Girl,

Hahahaha... I really like your post about the cockroach.. if your ex-husband is a cockroach as you had mentioned, he might be somewhere right now working with a nuclear war heads manufacturer..?? I guess he doesn't need to wear such disturbing safety suits to keep up with the radiation.. :)

withstanding 80 times more radiation, he could be famous..! wehehehe

hey, this is just a joke, right?

  17. Hey, loved the panda picture. I was at that National Zoo years ago and got to see the pandas. They have to be my favorite animal in all the world!!

enjoyed the little trivia facts too. So, the youngest signer of the Declaration of Independence was from NJ, well, he was probably the best looking one too! :-) Where else would he hail from other then from my old home state of NJ!! :-) have a great one, Deb

The dog biscuit thing is very true. I just tried to sneak an m&m out of the bag and Lulu came running like I'd rung the dinner bell.

  25. The roach and your X huh! That was nasty- ha!Roaches are disgusting..Living in the tropics I have an assortment of memories! I fell asleep once next to a styrofoam cup I had a hot malasada in (Portuguese type pastry). The sugar residue stuck to the cup. I woke up to a sawing noise which scared the bageebers out of me. I ran over and flipped the light on just to discover a huge roach on top the cup feasting on the sugar!! Fun blog..have a great day-
