Friday Shoot-Out Update - Go Random
I let Gus and Sadie pick a name outta the ole Corona hat this week........
And they picked Rockin Robyn my girl from An Alaskan Family!! Robyn wanted to go Random this week. Anything you feel like shooting. You can make a theme or mix it up with any thing you fancy.
Also, Becky from Iowa @omgirlblog.blogspot.com
and
beautiful Audrey from Canada @stage3whome.blogspot.com joined in the fun this week. Please check out their great shots!!
We have lots of wonderful new participant's. If you haven't joined our GANG yet, you don't know what you're missing. You will meet the nicest people ever. We've all become like one big family and get to know each other better every week. We care about each other, we laugh together and sometimes we cry together.....but together we are!! We will all be friends for life.
You might want to shoot Grandpa's and grand kids together. That's my Big Bro and my nephew going out to the garden to pick a few veggies.......
You might want to shoot a little 3-D cabinet surfing..........
You might want to shoot men with earrings.......(Prince will kill me for this one but hey, I love a man who's not afraid to wear an earring).........
This is one of the easiest most laid-back gang's on the net. A different gang member picks a subject each week and we all come out shootin. No rules, it's all about your interpretation of the subject. If you want to be jumped in to our gang, please hit me or Patty up with a comment and then drop by our Grand Poobah Gordon's site at "Friday Shoot-Outs From Florida" or traveling beauty GingerV at "Flowers and More" with a comment and they will gladly add you to the ever growing list. Then on Friday please add "Friday Shoot-Out" to your post title so that we can all see it on our dashboards and check out your shots.
Come on...........join a gang. We have a shoot-out every week and to date, no one's been hurt or arrested yet (that we know of that is). You won't be sorry!!
Everyone please have an E~X~T~R~E~M~E weekend, do something that brings a smile to your face and makes your heart sing. Pursue happiness..........it's worth it :)

Friday Shoot-Outs - Water, Water Everywhere
Water..........the building block of life! Hensley choose the week's assignment and a great one it has been.
Please check out Jama @ Sweet Memories from Singapore and girlichef from Indiana . Welcome Jama and girlichef!!
Rockin Robyn........it's your turn to pick a subject so "Holla" gal!!
I love to see these signs announcing that our fountains come from recycled water.....
Water drops from a fountain..........
Little Wahoo Creek's edge...............
A picturesque shot of Wahoo Creek...........
A fountain in Veteran's Plaza downtown Newnan. This is one of my thinking places. The fountain base is shaped in a triangle, like a folded American flag..........
What is sweeter than kiddo's making sandcastles at the beach.........
This is my lil cousin Daniel being a fish...I think?? Anyway, too cute..........
A shot off a bridge in Helen, Ga..........
Tallulah Falls in Georgia............
Pretty drops on my firecracker hummingbird vine after an afternoon rain........
Around my deck after another afternoon rain (yep, we've had loads of rain lately. I refuse to complain because we've had a drought for the last couple of years)..........
Another shot after the rain. I loved the way the pebbles look.........
Drops on my Iris blades..........
Bubbles in my pool...........
My gal gigi sent me this picture from her vacation out west. Thanks girl, what a gorgeous shot.........
Canadian geese at a marina. Another shot by gigi sent to me..........
A beautiful waterfall in Ruby Falls that Prince took for me when we were there year before last with Big Bro and Gypsy Sista..........
A friend of mine has ducks that think I'm going to feed them everytime I see them. Of course I do........
One of my very favorite pictures in the world. My hunny and I on the beach by The Gulf Of Mexico where I'm orginally from. Safe in the arms of my man :)..........

Come rain or come shine

Come rain or come shine" ~~~~Frank Sinatra

Buy More Shoes....It's Okay!!
A little note to Prince:
"Yes dear, I do need those shoes. As a matter of fact, I need lots of shoes. And yes honey, I do need to pack 6 pairs of shoes for a 3 day weekend. I just never know what I will need to wear with what on any given day. You have no idea what dilemna this presents at times!! It is far more complicated and important that you can ever imagine. It is a self esteem issue and I know that you wouldn't want my self esteem to suffer. And while we're having this little talk....yes my love, I need the handbag as well............
You're the tops sweetheart!! Mean it!!"
1. Aspire to be Barbie - that chick has everything.
2. If the shoe fits - buy one in every color.
3. Take life with a pinch of salt... a wedge of lime, and a shot of tequila.
4. In need of a support group? - Cocktail hour with the girls!
5. Go on the 30 day diet. (I'm on it and so far I've lost 15 days).
6. When life gets you down - just put on your big girl panties and deal with it.
7. Let your greatest fear be that there is no PMS and this is just your
personality.
8. I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.
9. Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself.
10. Don't get your knickers in a knot, it solves nothing; and makes you walk funny.
11. When life gives you lemons in 2009 - turn it into lemonade then mix it with vodka.
12. Remember every good-looking, sweet, single male is someone else's ex-boyfriend!

Tuesdays Around Newnan - City Of Homes
****Please click on "The Daily Puppy"******
Small towns always wake at dawn.
Because they sleep so well at night,
Lullabied by nightingales,
Then waked by roosters at first light.
No matter where one is.....or isn't,
There's lots of room to spare,
And of the people who are near,
Most likely someone cares,
~~~~By G Ellis~~~~
I live in the friendliest town in the Southern Arc I do believe. I want to share a few things that made me smile this week while I was out and about in my beautiful hometown of Newnan, Georgia..........
One of our many picturesque streets in town, Wesley Street. The movie October Road was filmed here.......
This is Lil Mama and Killer who come to our church every Sunday morning and wait patiently outside to greet everyone. They are our most faithful members..........
Pretty Nina who wandered over to show Prince and I her copy of Amelia Bedelia.......
I love this little shop nestled in the woods..........
I love this porch out front at 10 East Washington. Always wonderful food prepared lovingly by Chef George............
A pretty purple shamrock I spied over by Dr. Pat Yancy's office.........
I snapped this bee on a pretty flower in my yard. I'm happy to see the bees around. 1 in every 3 bites of food we eat depend on our bees pollenating..........
Sweet little girls playing with umbrella's Sunday afternoon on Court Square........
OH NO!!!! Honk y'all, it's Mary's birthday!! I saw this and it made me laugh. I'm sooo gonna do this on my birthday this year (okay but it's not my 60th yet)........
My favorite picture this week. Attacked by puppy love!! I adore my all of my animal's. They bring me so much joy and unconditional love.............
Come on down to visit with us in Newnan. We'll show you around and sit on pretty front porches with nice tall glasses of sweet tea or Mint Juleps . We'll wander around Court Square in the evenings and visit with friendly people who are waiting to meet you.
No matter where you live, please support your local Humane Society. They need you :)
My Daddy Was A Soldier.........
This post is in honor of my Dad a Purple Heart Veteran of the Korean War. He died at the age of 45 in 1976 and was buried with full military honors. He taught my brother's and I our love for this country with his unfailing love for America. I still fly Old Glory in the front of my house every day in his honor.......in honor of all servicemen and women from around the world who have given so much for our freedom.
My most prized possession is the American flag that draped his casket. Folded so nice and neatly by his comrades it rests in a beautiful wooden triangle case over my fireplace with his picture.
Thank you Daddy - - - you're my hero!!!
Thank you to every American soldier and their families.
This is one of my favorite picture's in the whole world of my dad on a little R&R with his buddy in Korea. That's my daddy on the left with his beautiful smile..........
You probably don't know his story
Most will never speak his name
You won't see him in your dreams tonight
But you owe him just the same
Since that awful day in September
He's proudly stood to fight
To serve his grieving nation
He needed to do what was right
He'd never admit to being a hero
That's not was heroes do
Instead of basking in the limelight
He's fighting for the red, white, and blue
Every moment he misses his family
Every day brings another fight
But, it's a small price to pay for freedom
To let his son sleep safe at night
He never asked to leave his family
He didn't ask to go to war
Never once has he asked himself
What in the hell am I fighting for?
Let somebody else fight for freedom!
I'm tired of getting low pay!
This is what I get for the sacrifice,
Of giving my life away?
He proudly serves his country
He wears his ribbons for all to see
He's served Old Glory with honor
And he's fought for our liberty.
Please remember all of our brave servicemen who have given so much on this Memorial Day.
Friday Shoot-Out Update - Join Our Gang
Everyone who participated in this week's Friday Shoot-Out did a "bang-up" job!! Gordon's choice of 'Paint the Town Red' made for some very creative shots. Seeing every one's interpretation of subject was amazing and that's what it's all about folks.......interpretation!!
Hensley has chosen 'Water' for next Friday. Great choice Hensley!!!! This is another assignment what will have many interesting takes on the subject. Don't worry if you don't live near the water. Water can be found everywhere and in many, many forms.......birdbaths, swimming pools, rain puddles, rain barrels, sprinklers, the possibilities are endless. You'd be surprised what you can find if you really look at the world around you, open your heart and free your mind.........
Water an elemental
Water a fundamental
Building block of life
Water of Life
Water in all religions
Water in all living things
Water in all countries
Water is the same
In all languages
Water is the same
To all living beings
If you'd like to be a GANGSTA, please hit me or Patty up with a comment. There are no rules........it's all about your take on the subject. Just point your camera and shoot away around the subject of the week pardner. If you would, simply add "Friday Shoot-Out...." to your post subject line so that we can all see it on the dashboard. Cool Gordon at Friday Shoot-Outs From Florida and lovely GingerV at Flowers and More are kind enough to keep a running list of other gang members for us, so hop on over there and let them know that you're gonna be shootin and they will gladly add you to their list.
I know your mother told you to never join a gang, but she didnt mean OUR GANG!! This is a great one to join!!! You'll meet the nicest people ever who want to show you their town and express themselves with snapshots......
Beautiful sweet Audrey from "Stage3! Who,Me??" in Edmonton, Alberta Canada just told that she was shootin this week and I'm holding her to it.........
Hope everyone has an E~X~T~R~E~M~E weekend and.........
Friday Shoot-Out - Paint It Red!!
Gordon over at Friday Shoot-Outs From Florida got to pick this weeks subject and he chose "Paint The Town Red". I had a great time shooting this one and I only "almost" caused about 2 wrecks this week slamming on the breaks for shots. That's a record for me....I usually "almost" cause a few more. For some reason Prince won't ride with me much these days. I don't get it.......
Please be sure to drop by one of our newcomer's, the darling Debby at "The Pink Birdhouse" from Germany. She's an awesome gal........
I hope everyone has an E~X~T~R~E~M~E Memorial Day weekend.......
So........RED it is my friend Gordon........
A cover I saw where gasoline is stored........
A pretty red tiled roof..........
My girlfriends daughter's little toes painted red.......
I really liked this crack in the facade of an old barn. Reminded me that life's not always perfect..........
Sweet crisp red apples............
An old weathered barn with a tin roof that I spied..........
A paper box on town square.............
I saw this paint peeling outside an old horse stall..........
I loved this red dune buggy...........
A red drain pipe that I saw on a red brick building.............
I saw this old red dog house but I didn't see any signs of a pup living there.......
Red Salvia in the park............
An old red brick wall leading to a garden with an old green door...........
An old grate in a red brick wall............
A red clothes drop box.............
Of course I had to throw in a token red fire hydrant :)................
I loved this splash of red flowers beside this old park bench that has loads of character..........
This is my little buddy Levi!! If you knew Levi, this t-shirt is so right on the money. He is a darlin child who never fails to make me laugh (and yes, that is cupcake frosting all over his mouth, lol).........
I spied these red Geraniums peeking from behind a porch...........
My favorite place to shop in town Arnall's Grocery. I buy all my seeds and garden supplies here. I used to come to this very same store with my grandmother to buy seeds for her garden.............
This is my very favorite. I spotted these young dudes with red shirts on their way to drop a line in the creek as they put it. Mike, Lucas, AJ and Jesse happily posed for a snapshot and told me about their day. What nice young men.........
