Baptizing Cats and We Want YOU!!

Hey You!!!!! Yeah YOU........

We want you to join our "Friday Shoot-Out" gang!! That's right...we have a GANG! Any suggestions on gang colors and signs to throw?

The best thing about it that you get to meet some super cool people and have a little look-see at life in their hometowns. Every week one of our gang member's picks a subject and we shoot photo's of the theme in our hometowns.

No rules go with this venture........it's a fun project. If you'd like to participate check in at my blog or any other participant's blog and see the week's theme then snap away and post your Shoot-Out on Friday's. Please, if you don't mind, try to make "Friday Shoot-Out" part of your post title so that we can all check you out as we scroll down our dashboards. It's pretty easy to spot!! When one of us see that you are posting, we'll notify the ever gracious and cool Gordon over at FRIDAY SHOOT-OUTS FROM FLORIDA because he is keeping a list of participant's posted. He's kind of our "unofficial" official Papa. As a matter of fact, I gave him another 2 name to add to our ever growing list just today. We're waiting for YOU!!

Come on and join in the fun. We have new participant's every week and I do think that Patty and I have started a great thing here. It's a super friendly project, no competition involved and no one is here to critique your interpretation of the theme. It's totally cool if you can't post one week and pick up when you have time to get back in the game. No pressure.....we all realize that life happens and you may not have time to make a post. Again.........NO RULES

Next Friday's subject is : "MY HOMETOWN'S NATIVE FOOD AND RESTAURANT'S chosen by the stunningly beautiful Loida of China.

If you show us yours.......we'll show you ours......

LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2) When your mom is mad at your dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a dust-buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap

Have a blessed Easter everyone and.........

  1. Hey I love the idea of joining your friday shoot-out gang. It sounds like my kind of dangerous. I'll be watching to see what the topic is!

  2. Reggie Girl, you are gorgeous, did you know that? Even when you're not flirting outrageously with B&B, the slices of life you offer from your home town are just delicious to me! I have now got caught up with your pics and words, and the beauty of the love of people and images you capture touch my heart - Yes, I know I gush, it's my only weakness ;)

The pics of your daughter and the animals - lovely, and that bushy tail on the black dog - Beautiful! I would love some asparagus from your garden - All your pics are good enough to eat - Steady on, and I hope that you are doing well this Easter weekend!

(I love the 1. and 8. above - Both involving cats - Baptising and vacuuming - What next!) xx

  3. Reggie Girl, gal, you have come up with some of the funniest and nicest things that you hae learned in life, and at least 80% of them hold true for me too, ESPECIALLY the one about hitting sisters. You are darn tooting, that the second one always catches it! :-) And my mom would brush my hair at times when mad at dad, OUCH is all I can say! Hey, I have to admit, I have done the same thing with my own girls when mad at DH. I learned from the best, MOM. :-) Have a HAPPY EASTER girlfriend, and let the Easter bunny treat you well. hugs, Debby

  5. I learned this one the hard way. Never get your allergy shot when the nurse is mad at her husband. Boy did that hurt.

  6. I'll be checking out the shoot out...I live in a super small town in ND and your new subject is quite a challenge here! Somehow...I never learned #9...my Mom forgot that lesson..LOL! Have a blessed Easter!

  7. I LOVE your "learned" list, those are perfect things to have learned :)

Thank you for the "Gang" I needed this so bad and have been looking for a way to learn more about my camera, and I guess my town. I feel like I joined a group of professionals though and what can I offer??? Everyone has been so nice and the really bad thing is that I want to travel to see everyones town. I'm starting to make a list and that's sort of hard when you don't have all the money needed. It's so fun to dream. How far is Newnan from Jackson?? I'll be at Indian Springs in October. I didn't think they are that far from each other???

Hope you and yours have a sweet and Blessed Easter.

  11. Hi Reggie,

Thank you so much for your kind words. Something you said that I found so encouraging was, "Your prose is so eloquent and seemingly effortless..."

I just want you to know that words aren't the only source of eloquence. I have found grace, honesty and joy here on your blog. You inspire me Reggie.

I am fortunate that I am blessed to meet bloggers in this community with a joy and love of life.

I have been reading some of your earlier posts and was aware of the Chemo treatment. For years I have lived in a technological cocoon. Words like Autism and Chemotherapy held no importance to me; I'm sorry to say that but it is the truth.

When I look at the pictures of Newnan and read the narrative, I feel as if I'm transported there. I sense the joy and warmth that you and the citizens share.

Just know Reggie that I will be thinking of you and praying for you. I wish I could make you laugh but I truely lack talent there.

    U

  13. Hey I want to do this, and if I do not live in my 'real' hometown, does the neighborhood I live in count? Also, I am hijacking your 'Learned' thing and linking it back, I think people who follow my TMI blog will like your neighborhood theme thing, and this...

Also, now due to a rude blog that will not leave me along, I have made TMI private, so if you want to come there email me and I will add you to the list!

  14. For now I will leave TMI private, but he is still trying to leave a comment today, twice I have rejected his words...count me in on the photo, and I am recommending your site for my TMI blog, and a fellow blog who loves to take photos with her new camera, Rachel...

  15. Reggie Girl, I'm gonna have to borrow your idea about the ten lessons learned... it's a fun idea. ;p

Thank you so much for your comment on my site. I always (as well as everyone else) like to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the cheek therapy... :D That's no fun. Moles are suspicious little creatures aren't they?

P.S. Don't you love the expression on my daughters face in my profile picture, it looks like the kiss I am smooching on her cheeck is very distasteful!!

-Plus I am going to "join the gang" when I get my camera up and running again (or that is working, don't like chasing inanimate objects around). I think for hand signals we could all throw out fake clicking cameras... well actually I have bad memories of people doing that cause' they used to tease me by clicking fake cameras at me (My maiden name is Cameron, get it, lame joke?) ;p

    Steady On Reggie Girl!!!

    Love you RG!

  20. Reggie Girl I am going to try and join the fun. I can't promise it will be every week but I will do my best.

Your puppy at the top? the photo isn't showing properly, Just thought you would want to know.

And never leave a two year old alone with a vacumm cleaner and the toilet seat up -- you really don't want to know. LOL

  21. Can I lift the copy from your site and post on my site? I think we should all do that.
We certainly are getting a following. I know Oprah is listening now.

Gang colors? Um. I will have to think about that. But that is a great idea. We can even have someone design us t-shirts with our blog addresses on them. We need a name and a logo. Let's all think on that.

Wow! CNN might be doing a story on us soon.

Oh, if anyone needs any photo tips, please do not mind asking me. Not that anyone needs any tips. I think everyone is expressing themselves in a great way, and I love all of the photos. There are no bad photos, as every photo tells a story. And that is what photos are all about.

Happy Wooo Hooo Easter to everyone!

  25. Reggie girl, I'm so tempted to join the Friday group ...I have such a busy work week I'm not sure how but I just realised since Im a day ahead I could probably get away with posting on a Saturday morning!

God bless your Easter, such a special time and a good reminder of (the best reminder) of renewal and miracles.

And if I posted a comment twice please delete!
The page froze and I don't know now if I'm stuttering or not!

  26. Our cat fell in the pool last summer. Does that count as baptism???!!!

Happy Easter, my dear! God is good.

  27. If you blink you miss our town....but I'll think about the shoot out. I really enjoy your pictures; there are some interesting buildings where you are.
    Have a wonderful Easter!

  28. LOL, I would love to witness an attempt to baptize a cat!

  29. Drat I didn't check for your new post until after dinner - so I am comment #26 - I hate that you may not read mine after so much has already been said.... BUT I love your list - can I cut and paste it in an email to Marissa? I going to without your espressed permission....
we need a 'our town' blog site with permission for each person to post.... then we can give participants permission to contribute....and all the photos will be in one place... course then we might need some rules - so that would change everything.... But no ones contribution would go unnoticed.

  30. Just stopping by to wish you a Happy Easter!

  31. Thanks very much for your lovely comment on my blog! I think your goal of a no-kill shelter is an admirable one. I'm jealous of your large number of followers, but all in due time--right?

  32. It's really a great thing that you and Patty started this thing! It's cool to be a part of the Gang LOL. I'll keep it in mind to put the title as Friday Shootout:Subject in the next shootout.

I really hope a hundred more people join us, we would be totally unstoppable LOL.

  33. I'm sure I posted something here yesterday, but my computer keeps crashing so maybe it got caught out :( Chef E suggested I should come and play with photos, which sounds like a very good plan. Can I be in your gang? :)

  34. Thanks for the comment about my computer woes. Now the hubby & I each think the other one is porn surfing, lol. If you knew me better, you'd realize how totally hilarious that is! Anyway, I need to join up & do this, but the only good photos I seem to be able to take are of food. And, those aren't that great either. But I've always secretly wanted to be a gang member. Does that count? ;-)

Hope you're having a blessed Easter...
